Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, was born in Lagos State, Nigeria, where his journey of resilience and leadership began. From a young age, he demonstrated a sharp intellect and a strong drive for excellence. After completing his primary and secondary education in Nigeria, Tinubu moved to the United States to further his studies. He attended Richard J. Daley College in Chicago and later Chicago State University, where he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting. His educational experience abroad broadened his worldview and strengthened his strategic and leadership capabilities.
Before venturing fully into politics, Tinubu built a solid foundation in the private sector. He worked as an accountant for several reputable firms in the United States before returning to Nigeria. Upon his return, he joined Mobil Oil Nigeria (now Mobil Producing Nigeria), where he rose through the ranks to become a senior executive. His time in the corporate world gave him practical experience in financial management, administration, and organizational leadership — skills that would later define his governance style.
Bola Ahmed Tinubu began his political career as a Senator in 1992 and later served two terms as Governor of Lagos State, driving major reforms in infrastructure, education, and finance. He played a pivotal role in forming the APC and became Nigeria's 16th President in 2023, earning the nation's highest honor, GCFR.

Increased Lagos State's internally generated revenue (IGR) from about ₦600 million per month in 1999 to over ₦7 billion per month by 2007, laying the foundation for Lagos' financial independence from federal allocations.
Initiated major infrastructural projects such as road expansion, improved drainage systems, and the development of the Lekki–Epe corridor to boost urban growth.
Established 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) to bring governance closer to the people, which later influenced how other states approached grassroots development.
Rehabilitated public schools, introduced free tuition in state primary and secondary schools, and improved teachers' welfare to enhance the quality of education in Lagos.
Upgraded health facilities across the state, expanded immunization programs, and made significant investments in maternal and child health services.
Strengthened the Lagos Rapid Response Squad (RRS) and invested in modern security equipment, making Lagos one of the safest states during his tenure.
Pioneered the use of PPP models to fund and execute large projects such as road infrastructure and transportation initiatives.
Played a central role in the formation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2013, merging several opposition parties into one strong national party.
Mentored several politicians who went on to become governors, ministers, and legislators, shaping the political landscape of modern Nigeria.
Consistently pushed for states to have more control over their resources and revenue generation.
Announced the removal of fuel subsidy to reduce government expenditure and redirect funds toward development projects (though controversial, it's considered a major economic reform).
Embarked on international economic diplomacy to attract foreign investments into Nigeria's energy, tech, and manufacturing sectors.
Launched policies focused on job creation, infrastructure renewal, energy reform, and digital transformation.
Expressed commitment to strengthening democratic institutions and the rule of law.

“My vision is to build a united, secure, and prosperous Nigeria, a nation where every citizen has equal opportunities to thrive and contribute to national growth. I believe in creating an environment where innovation, enterprise, and justice flourish, lifting millions out of poverty and driving sustainable development across all states of the federation.”
I believe that true leadership is service, grounded in courage, strategic thinking, and an unwavering commitment to the people. My philosophy is centered on equity, inclusion, and progress through collective effort. By working together, we can transform challenges into opportunities and build a nation where no one is left behind.
These principles guide every action, decision, and vision — shaping a Nigeria built on unity, progress, and opportunity for all.
Leadership anchored on transparency, accountability, and service to the people.
Driving a strong, inclusive economy that empowers citizens and businesses.
Fostering peace, equity, and equal opportunity across all regions of the country.
Embracing creativity and technology to build a better future for generations to come.
These values are deeply aligned with the vision of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the political party under which President Bola Ahmed Tinubu leads. The APC stands for progressive governance, national unity, and inclusive development, reflecting the same principles that drive Jagaban’s leadership. Through the party’s platform, these values are translated into real policies, programs, and actions that impact communities across Nigeria.
“Together with APC, we move Nigeria forward — stronger, united, and prosperous.”
